Phasor-Archiver is a companion module to the ePDC, eSPDC, and RTDMS systems. Phasor Archiver stores time synchronized data in the “raw” at the highest resolution. RTDMS also stores calculated data such as average, MW/MVAR, angle difference, and modes.

Phasor Archiver offers the following features and functions:
- On Windows/Linux platforms
- MS SQL, My SQL, Oracle -under development
- Data storage at the same resolution as the ePDC/eSPDC/RTDMS
- Archiving all descriptive information specified in C37.118 config frame
- Channel oriented record design to reduce disk space requirement
- Time based table partitioning
- Flagging of data errors etc
- Support signal aggregation and calculated values
- Support PMU, channel, date/time, data type selection filters
- Support data rate and storage configuration
- GUI based and web based data retrieval, plotting and analysis tools
Advantages of a Relational Database Archiver
- Relational Databases are widely used in power industry as the backbone of IT infrastructure
- IT supportable functions such as scheduled backup, tuning, clustering, and user management
- Seamlessly integrate phasor data into an enterprise system
- Data retrieving/reporting/analysis is easier with the available tools including MS Office Excel, Access, Crystal Reports etc. and/or customized tools
- ANSI SQL standards make the database interoperable
- Since data is stored without compression, data fidelity is not lost during extraction, rebuilding
- Today’s databases are designed to scale graceful for high volume concurrent access
- Large vendor pool from commercial relational databases such as Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, and IBM's DB2 to open source implementations such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, and SQLite
