PGDA - Phasor Grid Dynamics Analyzer
Phasor Grid Dynamics Analyzer (PGDA) is a powerful, software analysis suite for synchrophasor data. PGDA works with multiple data sources including Historians, Relational Datababases (MS SQL, MySQL, Oracle, .dst files, .dat files, .csv files)

With PGDA users can quickly and accurately analyze phasor data in order to:
- Asses the health and vulnerability of a power system
- Identify the root causes and effects of events
- Determine a power system’s ability to withstand events
- Identify and characterize system dynamics like modes
Challenging and time consuming tasks like system baselining and modal analysis can be accomplished in minutes.
Visualization tools help to convey meaningful information about complex data
PGDA is a tool that is designed for multiple types of analysis.
Dynamic Stability and Damping Analysis
- Identify oscillatory modes
- Characterize the stability of oscillatory modes
- Evaluate damping level to assess power grid stability
Event & Disturbance Analysis
- Event Analysis – temporal and spatial information
- Root cause assessment - quickly determine the causes and effects of power system events like generation trips , line trips, generation-load imbalances, and other dynamic events
Dynamic Model Validation
- Correlate model results with measured data
- Refine model parameters and algorithms
- Verify and improve dynamic models used in power system simulations to aid in planning and engineering studies
Baseline Performance
- Analyze normal and abnormal performance and establish alarming limits
- Examine long-term system performance and establish reliable ranges for voltage, frequency, and other system metrics
Reliability Assessment
- Analyze key reliability metrics, i.e., Frequency response
